REASONS. Sounding reasonable has nothing to do with having what you want. But you prefer to „explain“ your current situation rather than be responsible for the way things are. This creates a false sense of security.

I’m so full of reasons

Words by Ron Smothermon
Music by Charlie McLight

I spent my life building my mind
To distinguish myself in old age
I tried so hard not to be blind
And think through life, every page

I gave reasons to everything I saw
“Rational” was my word in every season
For me it was right to live by the law
And the law of my life was "reason"

I’m so full of reasons
I gave my life away
Until the end I have lead myself astray

I lived in my head and made myself known
With my reasons I gave them all hell
And through the years I thought I had grown
Now I wonder if I chose very well

I’m so full of reasons
I gave my life away
Until the end I have lead myself astray

Now comes the last breath and my soul is loud
It tells me we can’t move on without our heart
It says my reasons of which I've been so proud
Were just a cover for being not so smart

The one prime cause of my life was me
But I gave it all explanations
And they removed all responsibility
Leaving me with no creations

I’m so full of reasons
I gave my life away
Until the end I have lead myself astray
